Koshka’s Journal #3
A bad day for sure. After a botched attempt at gaining information on Elijah through the Red Death, we decided to attempt to sneak into his cabin and steal the box back. Koshka should have known that after our last failed stealth mission, that this would end badly.
We approached the cabin, Vento did so with little heed of stealth, all the power must have gone to his head… though perhaps Koshka speaks out of turn, it is unwise to taunt the newly fallen spirits. This was the last mistake Vento made, he fell on that field. This lead Boris and Koshka to stand down, especially after our friend Alonzo appeared.
Alonzo offered us a deal; we bring Jack into this world in a time and manner of his choosing, he doesn’t kill us. Not much of a choice, and we decided to take it. This involves un-seating Elijah and getting the box and pieces. He has the Church, the Underworld, the local PD and 2 royal houses, Rivtoff and Hiregaard. We decided to start with the Underworld, and Malkin, as it put us out of town and away from Elijah’s wrath.
This lead us to Liara, Malkin’s supposed home. Here Koshka met a character by the name of Caspar, a human who calls himself an exterminator. He has agreed to join us in our quest to stop Elijah and bring Jack into the world.
Liara is a strange town, there is no crime anywhere despite a rather large poverty stricken population. This seems to be orchestrated by the church of the Lawgiver. We believe Malkin actually runs the church and that it really runs more like a mob, gouging the town for protection money so that no crime does occur. This is thanks to Z, who stole some items in order to gain the attention of this syndicate. After a few heist jobs, which Koshka helped to find, we have only gotten the church blamed. Apparently the local populace believes that these homes were robbed for failing to pay the church appropriately.
Now the plan is to get sloppy, let the church know that it is Z who is doing the robbing. Hopefully, this will bring Malkin’s men to us, and, hopefully, they won’t be too angry.
