Koshka’s Journal #14
We have paid a dear price by following Jack’s plans but Koshka is convinced that it is not so dear as Alonzo’s. And completing his task has pushed him off our backs and he has allowed us to leave the city. Unfortunately the others have taken this to mean that they should now hurry away to complete Alonzo’s plan, somehow believing themselves to be carrying out a noble goal when it is no different than Jack’s.
In any case, Koshka cannot convince them of their folly so she is forced to go with them. Koshka cannot carry out Jack’s plan by herself. So, after collecting her fee, Koshka joined the group to head south back to Mordent in search of this vile library.
After failing to find this library in the University and our first search of Mrs. Haywood’s bookshop, Koshka was hoping we had hit a dead end. But this group is resourceful, the quality that likely drew Koshka to it in the first place, and Z was able to discover that Van Richton kept his most secret and valuable of books in a hidden vault within the bookshop. Which, upon a more in depth search, we were able to uncover it. Unfortunately it was crawling with both creatures and angels. While the former were dispatched without a thought, the group attempted to reason with the later. This, of course, failed, why they continue to try is beyond Koshka. After some difficulty, these too were removed from our way.
In the midst of it all, Kurt attempted to place a book in the library and Koshka attempted to destroy it. This of course met with failure and the attempt more than upset Kurt, causing him to show his true colors to Koshka. A showing that I will not soon forget.
